2016 PAGHAYO SA TAGLAGAS RECOGNITION CEREMONY

The Philippine Embassy in Tokyo and the Association of Filipino Students in Japan (AFSJ) are proud to host the Autumn 2016 Recognition Ceremonies for Filipino Graduates in Japan popularly known as PAGHAYO SA TAGLAGAS 2016. The ceremony will be held on Saturday, 24 September 2016 at 4 p.m. at the Philippine Embassy in Roppongi, Minato, Tokyo.

A seminar on the legacy of Elpidio Quirino, sixth President of the Philippines, will be held on June 17, 2016, Friday, from 5:30-8:00 pm at Sophia University.
The Institute of Asian, African, and Middle Eastern Studies of Sophia University, in cooperation with the Embassy of the Philippines and the President Elpidio Quirino Foundation, is sponsoring this event.
This is timely as we are celebrating this year, the 60th Anniversary of the Normalization of Diplomatic Relations between the Philippines and Japan as well as the unveiling of the Quirino Memorial in Tokyo.
Listen to three (3) distinguished historians, Prof. Ambeth R. Ocampo of the Ateneo de Manila University, Prof. Ricardo T. Jose of the University of the Philippines, and Prof. Satoshi Nakano of Hitotsubashi University, as they talk about the life and times of President Quirino.
We hope you will be able to attend this event. Admission to this seminar is for free. No need for reservations as well.

Financial Support for Participants of ASEAN Job Fair 2017!
★Job hunting in Japan can be really costly, especially if you do not live in Tokyo or nearby regions. ASEAN Job Fair organized by AYNJ has been aware of such financial burden and has kept the tradition of giving out transportation reimbursement to better address the need of ASEAN students who wish to seek for job opportunityin Japan.

★Students who register for the Job Fair before March 12th and fulfil the below conditions will be given transportation subsidies which ranges from 1,000 yen to 10,000 yen depending on the region they are currently residing in:
1 ASEAN citizenship
2 Graduated/Scheduled to graduate from Japanese universities (undergraduate/graduate) in the period between September 2015 and March 2017.
3 Participate in both days of the Job Fair and arrive at the event on time for the Reception.
★Rate of reimbursement by area Kanto: 1,000
We are aware that the subsidies may not cover all of your travelling expenses; however, we hope it will help lessen the financial burden and encourage talented young ASEANers to challenge themselves in the Japanese job market!

Join us in this year’s AFSJ & STAC-J Christmas Party for a Cause 2015 to be held on December 19, 2015 at Philippine Embassy, Nampeidai, Shibuya from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM!
The proceeds will be donated to selected beneficiary high school laboratories in Iloilo, Philippines.
